Some people may say that playing any game is about fun and excitement, not about one’s character’s appearance. We can bet that the vast majority of Minecraft players would disagree with such an opinion, since in this game, the way you look matters a great deal. There are very few players that are OK with their default looks, which are Steve and Alex, whereas most players prefer changing their boring and insipid skins to something more eye-catching and noticeable. In the magic world of Minecraft, you can meet angry werewolves, ugly witches, superheroes from Marvel comics, anime boys and other weird creatures. Still, to become someone else beside Steve requires being able to change Minecraft skins. After reading our guide, you will be able to do it very quickly. So, let’s go for it!
Changing Minecraft Skins on PC
To chance a Minecraft skin on your computer, you’ll need to go to the Minecraft Skindex website, where you’ll find lots of cool things waiting for you to try them out.
Next, you’ll want to navigate through a wide array of available skins on the website. Take your time and try to figure out what may suit your character best.
- There is also a familiar search bar for your convenience. If you access Skindex knowing exactly what skin you want to download, just type its name into the search field and wait for the result to appear.
- If you’re eager to check the newest skins out, don’t hesitate to select the “Latest” option in the top-left corner of your window.
When you’re done selecting your future look, press on the “Download” button on the left-hand side of the screen. Immediately after this, the file will start downloading to your folder.
- Note that you browser may prompt you to confirm the download or specify its location prior to downloading the skin’s file.
Then, fire up Minecraft (we assume that you’re perfectly aware how to do it).
After opening the necessary website, click the ☰ button. It’s on the upper-right side of your window. Upon doing so, you’ll see the drop-down menu.
Then, select the “Profile” option at the top of the menu. Shortly afterwards, you’ll find yourself on the skin page, a real treasury for the player eager to enjoy new Minecraft skins.
- If you haven’t still logged into the game, do it at this point. As usual, you’ll need to provide your email address and password to get into the world of Minecraft.
Next, you’ll need to press the “Select File” button at the bottom of the window. Choose the skin’s file you have just downloaded (it’s saved into your Downloads folder, unless you had specified some other location).
In the bottom right-hand corner of your window, you’ll see the “Open” option. Go click it! Wait a while for the file to upload to the profile page.
Your next step is to press the white “upload” button. It should be at the bottom of your screen. In a sec, your old skin will disappear and you’ll start enjoying the one you have just uploaded.
- Please note that only you’ll be able to change the skin for your current account’s character only.
